Beverly Hills last night. "Slumdog" won for best dramatic motion picture, best director for Danny Boyle and trophies for best screenplay and musical score. Kate Winslet got two Golden Globes -- one for best dramatic actress for "Revolutionary Road" and another for supporting actress for "The Reader." "The Wrestler" also got two trophies -- dramatic actor for Mickey Rourke and best song for Bruce Springsteen. Heath Ledger won the supporting actor award for his role as The Joker in the latest Batman movie. On the television side, HBO's "John Adams" took four Golden Globes.
Eastwood's 'Gran Torino' takes No. 1 at the box office Clint Eastwood's "Gran Torino" was the weekend's No. 1 box office draw with $29 million in receipts for the best movie opening of Eastwood's career. Studio estimates show the 78-year-old Eastwood stole the box-office bouquet from Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson. Their wedding comedy "Bride Wars" came in second with $21.5 million. The horror film "The Unborn" followed in third with $21.1 million.
Josh Duhamel and Fergie are now husband and wife. They got married Saturday in the hills above Malibu at a destination often used for weddings and parties, called the Church Estate Vineyards. Duhamel and Fergie had been dating since 2004 and were engaged in 2007.
For Michael C. Hall, kissing your stage sister isn't like kissing your sister. Hall has married Jennifer Carpenter, who plays his sister on "Dexter." They eloped in California on New Year's Eve. Before that, they hadn't even publicly acknowledged they were a couple. But, they'd been quietly dating for about a year and a half. Hall, who's 37, and Carpenter, who's 29, just finished the third season of "Dexter" on Showtime.
